Dream Farm in Chiba Prefecture

In 1887, the founder Akiba-san opened the first farm called Akiba Bokujo in Koto-ku, Tokyo. It was moved from there and then a few times around Chiba. It settled in its current location in 1976. In 1987 in celebration of its 100 year anniversary, a large part of the farm was opened as an entertainment ranch and farm and the Narita Yume Bokujo was born. In English it translates as Narita Dream farm and is a great place for families and kids to enjoy the various activities it offers. The grounds are huge, spanning close to 30 thousand square meters.

The activities are many and will keep you entertained for the whole day. There is a hill slope where kids can ride on plastic sleds. Guided horse and pony riding, tractor rides, fancy custom made bicycles riding, a fishing pond, miniature golf and archery, where if you hit the bulls-eye you win a free soft-cream. In one of the restaurant areas is a large children's playground and recreational area.

There are several restaurants on the grounds. A barbeque grill where you can cook your own meats and vegetables while looking out over the children's recreational area. The farm cafe burger house where you can enjoy delicious micro-brewery ales.

Special activities include everything from milking a cow, to feeding the sheep and goats. The park has abundant washing stops to clean your hands after playing with the animals.

Lessons are given on how to make your own ice cream, jam, bread, caramel candy, cookies and sausage.

In the warmer months the grounds are adorned with many beautiful flowers. In Spring, Cherry Blossom trees or Sakura bloom with and explosion of color. Seasonal events include strawberry picking and other harvesting of vegetables.

If you are looking to spend a nice, fun filled day out in the countryside with family and friends the Narita Dream Farm is not to be missed. If you fancy staying the night they have a campground available where you can rent everything you need including a barbeque grill.

The farm is also dog friendly and has a special dining restaurant for them.
