Yokohama's night sky is about to become the stage for Japan's biggest drone show yet, with an incredible 3,500 drones set to illuminate Minato Mirai as part of this summer's YOKOHAMA STAR☆NIGHT celebrations.
While Japan's summer is traditionally synonymous with spectacular fireworks festivals, drone light shows are quickly emerging as an exciting new way to experience the season. Using hundreds or even thousands of synchronized drones, these displays can create intricate animations, moving artwork, and colorful scenes that simply aren't possible with fireworks alone. They're also less affected by smoke, making the visuals easier to enjoy from start to finish, and offer a fresh take on a beloved summer tradition while showcasing the latest in entertainment technology.
The record-setting display will take place on July 26th over Minato Mirai and has been certified as the largest drone show ever staged in Japan. A fleet of 3,500 synchronized drones will create dazzling formations above the waterfront, with Rinko Park serving as the main viewing area. Best of all, the event will be free to attend, making it an easy addition to any summer itinerary.
While full details of the performance are still to be announced (including the exact time!), organizers promise a breathtaking showcase of cutting-edge drone technology, with thousands of aircraft moving in perfect synchronization to create giant images across the night sky.
