FAMIMA PARK AZABUDAI Opens in Tokyo

It's FamilyMart's first ever flagship store

One thing almost every traveler to Japan seems to rave about is the country's convenience stores. Where else can you grab a hot snack, pick up a fresh shirt, withdraw cash, send a parcel, and discover one of the best puddings you'll eat on your trip, all under one roof? It's no wonder chains like FamilyMart have become attractions in their own right.

Now, one of Japan's most beloved convenience store brands has taken things a step further with the opening of FAMIMA PARK AZABUDAI, FamilyMart's first-ever flagship store in Tokyo.

Located in the Azabudai area, the new store reimagines what a Japanese convenience store can be. Designed by acclaimed interior design studio Wonderwall and led by interior designer Masamichi Katayama, the flagship blends the efficiency Japanese convenience stores are famous for with a more engaging, design-focused shopping experience.

Rather than simply rushing in to grab a snack, visitors are encouraged to browse. A striking central display showcases exclusive FamilyMart merchandise alongside seasonal products, while the checkout area has been redesigned so the shopping experience continues right up to the register.

One of the biggest draws is an expanded section dedicated to FamilyMart's surprisingly popular convenience store clothing line. For the first time, shoppers can even use fitting rooms to try on the apparel before buying, giving the space more of the feel of a boutique than a convenience store.

The experience extends outdoors as well. A takeaway stand serves coffee and FamilyMart's famous hot snacks directly to the street, while benches invite visitors to enjoy their purchases outside. Inside, a café-style counter overlooking the street offers another relaxed spot to sit with a coffee or sweet treat.

Getting there

FAMIMA PARK AZABUDAI is located just a minute on foot from Kamiyacho Station.
