Chiruguwa Soba Misato

A uniquely Ryukyuan styled Okinawan Soba Shop

Chiruguwa is a Ryukyuan styled Okinawan soba noodle shop with two locations in central Okinawa. The exterior of the restaurant is topped with red Ryukyuan tiles once reserved only for royalty. Inside, the dining area is decorated with uniquely Okinawa motiffs throughout. The wait staff are dressed as eisa dancers. The Misato neighborhood location in Okinawa City has more than a dozen tables on tatami mats as well many regular tables for those that don't want to crouch down for their meal. My recommendation is to enjoy the beef and vegetable soba for 680 yen. When this dish is served it looks like a plate of yakisoba - stir fried soba with vegetables and meat - but its actually traditional Okinawan soba underneath in the bowl that is generously covered with large succulent pieces of beef and lots of stir fried vegetables. Chiruguwa is a part of the larger Captain's Group of restaurants. The Misato location is approximately 200 meters south of the intersection of Routes 85 and 224 - look for the red tile covered restaurant with 25 parking spaces in front of it. Chiruguwa is open 11:00 ~ 22:00 daily.
