The Hanno Handicraft Fair

The annual gathering of professional craft artists

Sherilyn Siy   - 1 min read
Venue : Hanno Chuo Koen When : Mid - Late May 2024

At the Hanno Handicraft Fair, professional craft artists from Hanno City and neighboring areas along the Seibu Line (specifically Toshima Ward and Chichibu City), who work with ceramics, wood, dye, glass, and metal get together to showcase their gorgeous handmade work. In the past, the event organizers have held raffles for customers who purchased ¥3,000 or more. Prizes were select handicraft products chosen from among the vendors. There are at least 100 vendors signed up to sell handicrafts and food and is the highest number of vendors since the fair was conceptualized. Aside from the handicraft vendors, there will be food vendors and all-day stage entertainment.

Note that the fair hours are slightly different per day.

  • Day 1 – 10:00 -16:00
  • Day 2 – 9:00 - 16:30
  • Day 3 – 9:00 - 16:00

Plan to visit nearby attractions before or after the fair. Tenranzan is opposite the fairgrounds and is an easy 15-minute hike. Cool off at the Hanno River and take photos with the picturesque red bridge in the background.

Getting there

A 20-minute walk from Higashi Hanno Station West Exit or Hanno Station North. Or take a local bus that stops at Tenranzan and it's a 3-minute walk from there.
