If it's your first time in Japan, sushi is a must-try. A big part of traveling involes discovering new food. But what if you are a vegan?  It is not easy to find vegan food in Tokyo, but luckily there is a place that offers vegan sushi. For meat lovers, I still recommend this cafe simply because the food is delicious and getting more veggies into your diet is beneficial.

Rainbow Raw Food is located in Ebisu, a trendy neighbourhood known for its signature local restaurants, bars and cafes. It is five minutes walking distance from Ebisu Station. The Cafe is quite small but is bright, cheerful and clean, thanks to its simple design. The open kitchen which allows you to see how dishes are created. Menu is available in English and has pictures of every dish. The most popular lunch choice is "Anglerfish-liver-like Raw Norimaki," which resembles the non-vegetarian version. The crunchiness of fresh veggies adds to its taste. If you are not in the mood for sushi, the cafe offers Mexican Burrito, Curry with Rice, Veggie Taco or Raw Acai Bowl. You can order your dish in a set with salad, onion crackers and the smoothie of the day.

There is a wide selection for beverages. Healthy rice milkshakes, enzyme drinks, and a whole range of special teas are available. Before starting your meal, boost your appetite with a smoothie. Its refreshing, perfectly balanced flavour will not leave you disappointed. If you have a sweet tooth, dessert is a must. The ice cream, raw vegan cakes, brownies and pancakes will satisfy even the most demanding customers. If you have ordered a lunch plate, you can add any dessert for 100 yen. For dinner, the menu includes kelp noodles, raw vegan pizza, and salads.

Almost all fruits and vegetables used in Rainbow Cafe dishes are organic. They do not use any animal products, refined sugar or MSG. In order to maintain healthy enzymes, all ingredients are either completely raw or prepared at temperatures under 48 degrees. Eating uncooked natural vegetables and fruits delivers all the necessary vitamins, minerals, and enzymes to your body. That is why after having a meal at Rainbow Raw Food Cafe you will feel light and full of energy. The Cafe also organises cooking classes, fasting programs and offers all kinds of information on clean eating and healthy lifestyle. Japanese speakers will be able to choose from many books and magazines available for learning more about the benefits of the vegan diet.
