Stunning Sakura at Ueno Park

Enjoy a beautiful view, food, boats and birds in Ueno

<p>Once the trees are in bloom many people rush out to see them especially on a weekend! </p>

<p>This sign is posted at one of the entrances to the park and it has a map of the park as well as the areas that you can visit while in the park for the sakura season. </p>

<p>The walkway to the temple in the center of the park is where most of the food stalls are located and it's quite a task to navigate from one end to the other. </p>

<p>There's many food stalls in the park where you can purchase very different dishes and eat them while enjoying the beautiful view of the sakura trees. </p>

<p>You can try a large variety of food from fish, chicken, pork and rice as well as traditional Japanese dishes such as okonomiyaki and of course many different desserts as well.</p>

<p>In front of the temple there is an area where you can purchase some incense for about 100 yen and you can light it and put in the sand while you make some wishes or pray. </p>

<p>This is a view from standing at the entrance to the temple and looking over backwards towards the food stall area and the towards Ueno park. </p>

<p>There are many people lining up to use the small swan boats, it's very romantic but also very busy on the weekends so it may be a good idea to try coming on a weekday to enjoy the lake. </p>

<p>There's sakura trees along the pathways around the lake as well as weeping willow trees next to them which create an interesting contrast and view. </p>

<p>The white sakura trees are very beautiful and they also smell quite pleasant if you get up close to them. </p>

<p>There are many types of sakura trees around the lake and many birds, including many pigeons which always follow you around asking for food. </p>

<p>Some people bring food and try to feed the birds which only makes them more impulsive and you can guarantee to be surrounded by both birds and people if you try it. </p>

<p>There's also red and pink sakura trees which have a different look and smell to them but nonetheless they are also very attractive. </p>

<p>There's people everywhere in the park taking photos, you can get very close up photos of the trees or you can choose to be farther away and take wider shots of the whole park. </p>

<p>You can also have a view of the lake and trees on both sides as well as the temple far away on the opposite side of this viewing area. </p>

Sakura season helps to make you feel happy to be alive, makes you think about your future and remember that the world is a beautiful place. Many people here love to go out and have sakura viewing parties under the beautiful trees or go for a walk around the park. Ueno Park is usually very busy on the weekends during this season since you can walk around the small lake near the park, eat many delicious Japanese dishes from the various food stalls or go on a short boat trip.
