The digital exhibition teamLab Borderless in the Mori Building Digital Art Museum is one of the must-see-exhibitions of Tokyo at the moment. On 10.000 square meter space these colorful digital artworks will blow your mind. They change constantly, so you can explore hour after hour and no room will be the same as before.

At Odaiba, five different worlds are waiting for you: the Borderless World, the Athletics Forest, the Future Park, the Forest of Lamps and the En Tea house. The artworks, be they flowers, animals or people, are even moving through rooms with you, often times changing their appearance. Interactivity is also a big factor in this exhibition: In the Crystal World it is possible to control the color scheme via your smartphone. You can create new planets that are bouncing, or draw animals and see them emerge into the digital sea. Also bouldering, or lying in a huge "bird's nest" is possible.

Visually and musically this exhibition is by far the most beautiful I have ever seen. We spent over four hours there and could have easily spent some more time. It is perfect for all ages and also for families with babies or smaller children. Tickets have to be bought online before you go. Be sure to plan ahead as they sell out quickly. It is a permanent exhibition.

Getting there

The exhibition is located at the Mori Building Digital Art Museum on Odaiba, next to the huge Ferris wheel.
