Probiotics and gut health have been buzz words in recent years, and one of the original players in the market is Yakult, a probiotic milk-based drink containing the bacteria Lactobacillus paracasei. Yakult was introduced in Japan in 1935 and has been extremely popular in various countries worldwide since then. For the Yakult fans out there, a limited-time pop up store at Shibuya109 will be offering ice cream, sorbet, and thickshake products incorporating the drink as a unique summertime treat.
Prices for the items on offer range from 450 yen for a sorbet or ice cream cup, to 600 yen for a caramel or berry flavored Yakult parfait.
Getting there
The Yakult pop up store takes place at Mog Mog Stand on the second floor basement of Shibuya109. It can be accessed in a minute on foot from Shibuya Station, which is served by various lines including the JR Yamanote Line and the Tokyo Metro Ginza, Hanzomon, and Fukutoshin lines.
