From May 20th (Thursday) to July 11th (Sunday), IKEA stores across the country will be hosting a Sustainable Food Fair, which focuses on plant-based takes on some global foodie favorites. There will be items on offer including plant-based gapao rice (¥ 899), a meat-free "beef" curry (¥ 799), veggie dogs (¥ 250), and even a mango oat milk panna cotta (¥ 299) for the sweet-toothed visitors.
Along with being highly nutritious, plant-based foods are seen as an integral part of a sustainable future - they require less resources to produce than their meat-based counterparts, and assist with global concerns like reducing carbon emissions.
Do note that IKEA Harajuku and IKEA Shibuya will only have limited plant-based offerings, and the menu won't be available at the Shinjuku store.
