Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced exciting updates to its international network for the 2025 summer season, including the launch of a brand-new Narita–Chicago route starting as of May 31st, 2025. This new connection is part of JAL’s broader efforts to meet increasing demand for travel between Japan, North America, and beyond.

The Narita–Chicago route will offer greater convenience for travelers heading to or connecting through the Midwest United States. Operated in partnership with American Airlines under a codeshare agreement, the service aims to strengthen ties between Japan and North America.

This new route complements JAL's growing international network, which includes increased frequencies on other popular routes. Since the end of March, the Narita–San Diego and Narita–Bengaluru routes now operate daily. Beginning July 18th, JAL will also boost its Kansai–Los Angeles, Kansai–Honolulu, and Chubu–Honolulu services to daily flights. Additionally, the Narita–Honolulu route will expand to two daily flights throughout July.

This announcement is part of JAL’s broader strategy to enhance customer travel options, create greater connectivity between Japan and key global destinations, and contribute to the flow of people and culture, including through partnerships like the recently signed agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB).

For travelers looking to visit Japan this year, the new Narita–Chicago service offers a fresh and convenient gateway to explore the country. More details and booking information will be available on the official Japan Airlines website.
