Japan is experiencing a surge in global travel interest this summer, with a 28 percent increase in flight searches compared to the same time last year, according to Emirates’ latest booking and search data. The airline, which operates 21 weekly flights from its hub in Dubai (DXB) to Tokyo Narita (NRT), Tokyo Haneda (HND), and Osaka Kansai (KIX), has identified Japan as one of its most in-demand destinations for the months of July and August 2025.

The Emirates research noted that travelers are being drawn to Japan for its balance of cultural heritage and modern lifestyle. Summer festivals, traditional arts, and local cuisine are paired with sleek urban attractions and a world-renowned hospitality culture. This variety continues to attract a wide demographic of travelers seeking meaningful and immersive experiences.

Many visitors are also planning longer trips this season, with a growing number opting for two-week holidays or more. The well-connected rail system and abundance of regional highlights here make it easy to explore multiple areas within a single visit, encouraging a slower and more rewarding travel pace.
