As winter fades and the first blossoms begin to appear, spring reveals some of Japan's most breathtaking scenery. For travelers planning a seasonal getaway, a recent ranking by Japanese travel site Jalan highlights the country's most beautiful flower views, offering plenty of inspiration for exploring Japan at its most colorful.

Topping the list is the Minami Cherry Blossom and Rape Blossom Festival in Minamiizu Town, Shizuoka Prefecture. Around 800 early blooming Kawazu cherry trees line the Aono River for about two kilometers, while bright yellow rapeseed flowers blanket the riverbanks, creating a striking pink and yellow landscape from February 1st to March 10th, 2026. Also in Shizuoka, second ranked Shiroyama Sakura in Izunokuni City features a 400 meter stretch of Kawazu cherry trees that is perfect for a scenic stroll or cycling from mid February to early March.
