It is said the darkest time is just before dawn. In Kyoto, spring is marked by the cherry blossoms from March 29 to April 12, but if you are here in mid March, you can still enjoy the beauty of the plum blossoms. Kyoto is celebrating this with the Higashiyama Hana Touro from Saturday March 12 to Monday 21 March. Every night from 18:00 to 21:30 the historic lane ways between Sannenzaka and Shoren-in Temple will be lit up, as well as several shrines and temple gardens.
