McDonald's in Japan always has something special to offer no matter what time of the year. Burgers, fries, ice cream, pies, drinks, there is always something new. Earlier this year in January, McDonald's introduced a new style of fries, combining chocolate sauce with fries.

The fries made a comeback for Halloween. Near the end of September, pumpkin and chocolate sauce on fries was introduced. To add to the excitement, from the middle of October, one more interesting flavor was available for more Halloween effect, this time purple sweet potato and chocolate sauce on fries.

The fries are available a la carte or can be upgraded from the normal value meal with an additional 60 yen. Both are selling for a limited period only, so do catch it before the promotion runs out!

I still clearly remember the day I first landed in Japan, and since then it has been my goal to set foot in all 47 prefectures. I try to look for less touristy areas, preferring the countryside to the city. I'm always amazed by the many Haagen Dazs and ice cream flavors available only in Japan.
