Breathtaking views from one of Japan's oldest castles

Located in Matsuyama, Ehime, Matsuyama Castle is one of the 12 oldest castles in Japan. What this means is that it has remained in tact since the Edo era. The castle is on top of a small mountain and can be seen throughout most of the city. There are several different options to get up to the castle, a cable car lift, chair lift, or hiking up on foot. Open 9am to 4:30-5:30pm (closing hour depends on the season) daily, the entrance fee is 510 yen.
