The island of Nakajima in Ehime Prefecture is blessed with a rich natural environment, including some exceptionally beautiful beaches. The NAKED Night Sauna – Setouchi Retreat event takes advantage of this, with portable saunas set up on Amiage Beach for visitors to use while enjoying projection mapping, music, and various citrus aromas that Nakajima is famous for.
50 participants a day can use the beachfront saunas, and if you do plan to attend please be sure to bring your own swimwear, towels, and sandals. The saunas are mixed genders (swimsuits are required), but the changing areas, showers, lockers, and restrooms are all gender-separated.
Please note that while the event runs from 13:00 until 20:00 daily, the last ferry departure is at 17:30 – so keep that in mind unless you're planning an overnight stay on the island.
Getting there
The event takes place at Amiage Beach on Nakajima. Ferries are available from either Mitsuhama Port or Takahama Port in Matsuyama to the island.
