From mid-May to early June, Ehime's Nanrakuen Garden hosts an iris festival which also happens to be their biggest annual event. At the two iris gardens in the park, a total of around 250,000 irises bloom for visitors to enjoy. There are numerous picturesque photo opportunities on the grounds, including a beautiful boardwalk path where you can be surrounded by flowers, and colorful irises sitting by the park's ponds.
For those who can't make it to the park during iris season, there are numerous other flower events earlier in spring, including plum blossom, cherry blossom, and azalea festivals.
Admission to the park is priced at 310 yen for adults, and 150 yen for school-aged students and those who are 65 years of age and above.
