Tamao Hachiman Shrine stands above a little port on the Seto Inland Sea. From the wide plaza with its dramatic torii gate and brick lantern, climb the steep steps up to the shrine with its elaborate roof and model ships hanging among the paper lanterns. A charming path of raked earth leads into the woods.
