If you appreciate the beauty, craftsmanship, and uniqueness of handmade products, the Kokura Handmade Marche in Fukuoka is an event you shouldn't miss. It's Kyushu's largest handmade market, with a whopping thousand (give or take) booths operating for the two-day event. Everything from handicrafts to home-made food will be on offer, and if you want to scope out the vendors ahead of time you can do that on the official event website.
In addition to the impressive variety of booths, there will also be hands-on workshops that attendees can take part in. Prices for the workshops vary, but you can peruse what's on offer here.
Getting there
The event takes place at the West Japan General Exhibition Hall, which can be accessed in under 10 minutes on foot from Kokura Station (served by the San'yō Shinkansen, Kagoshima Main Line, Nippō Main Line, and the Kokura Line).
For those who opt to drive, the venue is just a minute from the Kokura Station North Ramp on the Kitakyushu Urban Expressway.
