See shop sell sea salt by the seashore

Natural sea salt production in Japan is an ancient art form, refined over centuries. One place in Fukuoka that keeps this tradition alive is Kobo Tottan. This quiet retreat is tucked away on land’s edge of the Itoshima Peninsula a short drive from the Shimafunakoshi oyster wharf or Keya Beach. Here, they use just sun, wind, and firewood to obtain mineral-rich salt from seawater. You can watch or even take part in the process and relax with a picnic overlooking the sea, even in winter.
