British Hills is a unique destination in Fukushima Prefecture – it aims to recreate the atmosphere and charm of a traditional British village, offering visitors an immersive experience in British culture, history, and lifestyle without leaving Japan.
The venue is hosting the British Hills Market over Japan's Golden Week holiday period, which endeavors to support regional revitalization in the prefecture. The event is set to include vendors selling local Fukushima sake, sweets, and handmade items, alongside hands-on workshops that change daily and stage performances by Fukushima-based entertainers.
Visiting British Hills has a small admission fee of 200 JPY for adults and 100 JPY for elementary-aged students.
Getting there
British Hills is approximately 40 minutes driving time from Shin-Shirakawa Station, which is served by the Tohoku Shinkansen and the Tohoku Main Line. British Hills operates a courtesy bus service from the station to their venue, but reservations are required – more information about timetables and scheduling can be found on their website here.
