A special exhibition taking place at the Fukushima Prefectural Culture Center looks at works from Kumamoto-born Tatsuya Tanaka, a photographer who focuses on miniatures. His creations are humorous and thought-provoking, and he often uses everyday items in unique ways - for instance, broccoli and parsley are used to simulate trees. The miniature scenes that Tanaka photographs have gained him quite the following - in fact, his Instagram account (@tanaka_tatsuya) has almost 3 million followers.

The special exhibition will showcase around 120 of Tanaka's works, including pieces from the new "Stay Safe" series. Best of all, the works are all able to be freely photographed by the exhibition attendees.

Ticket prices for this installment of the event have not yet been determined - updates should be posted on the official website closer to the commencement date.

Getting there

The Fukushima Prefectural Culture Center (also known as the Toho Minna no Bunka Center) can be accessed within a ten minute bus ride from the JR Fukushima Station. From the station's east exit, head to bus stop number 9 and take the Momorin City Loop bus until you reach the Sakura no Seibo Tankidaigaku stop. From there, the culture center is around a 5 minute walk away.
