Venue : Tsurugajo Castle When : Oct 1st 2022 - Mar 31st 2023, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Tsuruga Castle is located in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, and was originally built in 1384. What you see standing there today is a replica of the original, and it has been designated as one of the prefecture's Important Cultural Properties.

A special event running from the start of October until the end of March brings the best of digital art to the castle, with a variety of projection mapping displays and bright illuminations for visitors to enjoy. The event is not just beautiful, but educational, too – there will be information about the history of Tsuruga Castle displayed via the projection mapping, and audio guides will also be available.

Getting there

Tsuruga Castle is located an easy ride from Aizu-Wakamatsu Station (JR Ban-etsu West Line) via the sightseeing loop bus. The closest stops to the castle are Tsurugajo Kita-guchi and San-no-Maru.

For those who opt to drive, the castle is around 15 minutes from the Aizuwakamatsu I.C. exit off the Ban-etsu Expressway. On-site parking is available.
