World Expos are extraordinary events that bring nations together to showcase the best of human ingenuity, culture, and collaboration. Expo 2025 in Osaka is operating under the theme of Designing Future Society for Our Lives, and promises to be an unforgettable experience. If you’re considering visiting, here are six compelling reasons to add it to your travel itinerary!

The incredible country pavilions

Expo 2025 will feature numerous country pavilions, each offering their own unique perspectives on culture, innovation, and sustainability. These architectural and experiential masterpieces are a rare chance to travel the globe in one place, with everywhere from Australia to Azerbaijan and Singapore to Saudi Arabia taking part.

Theme-based installations

The Expo's theme, Designing Future Society for Our Lives, will come to life through a variety of immersive installations. These displays tackle global challenges like climate change, urbanization, and health, inspiring visitors to imagine a better future.

A glimpse into cutting-edge technology

Expos have long been a stage for world-changing technologies, from early showcases of electricity to the newest advances in AI, robotics, and renewable energy. Visitors can experience interactive exhibits that highlight how technology can reshape fields like healthcare, mobility, and the environment. For instance at the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, attendees can learn about the future of eye care through eye drops and digital devices such as Virtual Reality (VR).

Cultural performances and events

Music, dance, and live performances from all over the world will be at the heart of Expo 2025, offering a chance to celebrate global diversity and creativity in an electrifying atmosphere. One such experience is set to be the Expo 2025 Midsummer Battle (Saturday, July 26 until Tuesday, July 29, 2025), an event that will attempt to break the world record for the largest gathering of people (and the most diverse representation of nationalities!) dancing Bon Odori.

A focus on sustainability

Sustainability is a core focus of Expo 2025. From eco-friendly pavilion designs to exhibitions about clean energy and recycling innovations, visitors will learn how nations are working to build a greener planet. One such example of this at the Expo is the "Mori ni Naru Kenchiku" project (literally "architecture that becomes a forest"), a rest area for Expo attendees made with 3D printing technology and biodegradable materials.

Global Cuisine

There's something unifying about food, and the cuisine connoisseurs out there will appreciate the opportunity to savor delicious eats and drinks at the event. Somewhere around 70 restaurants and shops will be present at Expo 2025, including GF Ramen Lab (a gluten-free ramen specialty store), and Terrace Nichirei (operated by Nichirei Foods) where the future of frozen foods can be explored. Options for those following vegan and halal diets will also be available.
