Overview

A bedroom community it may be but, extending from the southern banks of the Tama River, Inagi City overflows with space. Granted, two huge country clubs help but even then, the city's public spaces more than make up for it. Central parks, quaint parks and natural parks, Inagi City has it all. Here is an introduction to some of these parks and how to reach them.

Inagi City Central Park

With its central city location, sports fields, athletic tracks as well as ponds, gardens and children's play areas, it's safe to say that Inagi City Central Park is one popular location. Along with some woodland forest penetrated with a slew of walking trails, the park's location next to the city's famous whale bridge give it the thumbs up for value.

Kasayato Shinsui Park

Despite being considered modest in size, the idyllic charm of Kasayato Shinsui Park cannot help but impress. With the impressive Kasayato Bridge towering above it, the park's walking paths, ponds and watermill really do give off a lovely atmosphere. Plenty of benches to take a seat and soak in the mood, the fireflies in summer are a treat.

Shiroyama Park

Bursting at the seams with the natural world, Shiroyama Park is a definite reminder that Tokyo is far more than neon lights and brand name shopping. Tree covered hills, mountain-style walking trails, as well as a set of stairs that screams out challenge as you head up to its observation tower, there is no doubt that the park is a pretty impressive natural space.

Wakabadai Park

Seated at the southern end of a golf course can be found Wakabadai Park. Wide, expansive and completely open to the sky, the park's tiered hill landscape leading towards the pond at its base creates quite a unique atmosphere. Play equipment, sports fields and the ring of cherry blossom trees also combine to great effect.
