"My wife mountain"

C. Rio   - 1 min read

Early summer this year was a strange mix of warm weather and blue skies.  The summer rainy season was about two weeks late, giving us enough time to explore some lower elevation sections of the Snow Countryy Trail.  This small section can de done in a short afternoon hike (as an out-an-back), or made into a longer thru-hike by joining up with the Omine-san section trail. I was told the name of the peak loosely translates to "My wife!", though I have been given quite a number of different versions of the story of how it got that name.
