There are several different Oktoberfest events held across Japan during the autumn period, and one in Hiroshima promises plenty of refreshing draft beer, delicious German cuisine, and live music performances to create a fun atmosphere.
When it comes to the beer selection, there will be over 50 types available to choose from. Some of the offerings include Koenig Ludwig Weissbierher which has ties to the former German royal family, Bräu Weisse which has won gold medals at beer competitions in Germany, and Guild Pilsner which is known for its fruity and easy to drink taste.
Admission to the event itself is free, but bring yen to cover your food and drink purchases. Please also note that the event hours differ from weekdays to weekends and holidays. On weekdays, the hours are from 4pm until 9pm, but on weekends and holidays the hours are extended to 11am until 9pm.
Getting there
The event takes place at Hiroshima Gate Park Plaza, which can be accessed in just one minute on foot from Hiroshima Electric Railway's Genbaku Dome-mae stop, or two minutes on foot from the Kamiyacho Nishi stop.
