<p>At Kagami-ike (Mirror Pond), which is also called 'Conjugal Pond', the sky and the water surface has the same color - blue!</p>

<p>Snow remains till the latest time of the year here</p>

<p>White smoke and white clouds merge in the sky...how heavenly!</p>

<p>The pond reflecting the top of Mt. Asahi...the main attraction of the whole place!</p>

<p>In summer, Mt. Asahi will be filled with blossoming alpine plants such as Aleutian avens...this is surely a heavenly paradise!</p>

<p>High mountains of "The Daisetsuzan Volcanic Group"</p>

<p>Short summer of Hokkaido is blanketed by indigo blue and deep green</p>

<p>They say the color of water here is created by an invisible colloid produced by mixed water unique to this terrain</p>

<p>Blue pond...depending on the angle where it's viewed from, some people call it 'green', but to me it's 'Biei Blue'</p>

<p>Silver snags silhouetted on a blue water surface...quite unique picture only to be seen here</p>

<p>It seems no life forms can survive in this blue water</p>

Mt. Asahi is the highest mountain in Hokkaido and the main peak of the 'Daisetsuzan Volcanic Group'.

Here, you can see snow at the latest time of the year in Japan, and you can see autumn foliage at the earliest time as well. In this photo story, I'd like to introduce gregarious alpine plants, one of the largest and bluest summer mountains, and a blue pond in Shirogane, Biei, in Hoddaido. (Photos were taken around July 20th)
