Mochi is one of Japan's most popular foods, and it's also one of the most versatile – it can be enjoyed in various ways, covering both sweet and savory formats. The National Mochi Summit is a two-day celebration of this, and it takes place in Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture.
The event brings together specialists from all across Japan showcasing their mochi-based treats, with everything from cream daifuku to beef mochi cutlets and even mochi tempura on the menu. It presents a great opportunity to expand your concept of what mochi can be used for!
There is no admission fee to enjoy the atmosphere of the event, but bring yen if you're planning on doing some food sampling.
