Fireworks fan? The Sanriku Fireworks Competition brings 23 different fireworks companies to Iwate Prefecture to battle it out and show off their skills in the pyrotechnics field.
The fireworks themselves will be launched between 7 pm and 8.30 pm, but there will be plenty of other fun for visitors to enjoy starting at 12 noon on the day. Performances by local entertainment groups, activities for children, and food trucks serving up a variety of local cuisine are all part of the event.
Due to mitigation measures against the spread of coronavirus, tickets are required to attend, and these can be arranged via the official website here. For those who can't visit in person, the event will also be live-streamed on YouTube -- please check out the event website for details on this closer to the date.
The Sanriku Fireworks Competition takes place at the Takada Matsubara Sports Park, which is located just two minutes on foot from the Kiseki no Ipponmatsu Station.
