This temple is on the way to Zushi in the lovely Omachi area of Kamakura. It's not very big but is quite pretty in autumn. There are a number of interesting statues scattered around the grounds that depict battles between the gods and evil spirits. This is the former location of Hongoku-ji Temple, originally built by the local lord Ishii Saburo Chosho. After Hongoku-ji was moved to Kyoto, this temple was established in 1345.
