Odawara is a coastal city located in Kanagawa Prefecture, and it's known for its rich fishing culture among other things. The city is home to Odawara Fishing Port, where fishermen catch the likes of sea bream, mackerel, and sardines to sell at local markets and restaurants. The fishing port also hosts the annual Odawara Fish Festival, a family-friendly event with various ways to enjoy seafood and appreciate marine life.
There will be opportunities to buy fresh fish caught that morning and try fish boning experiences. If you do find yourself hungry at the event, there will be a number of local restaurants participating with various fish-based dishes available for purchase.
Getting there
Odawara Fishing Port is located just one minute on foot from Hayakawa station, which is served by the JR Tōkaidō Line.
As parking around the venue is limited, public transportation is advised by the event organizers wherever possible.
