The crowds can be quite challenging, so make sure to arrive early!

Although it can be difficult to elbow past other tourists, the blossoms are well worth it

Soga Plum Grove in Odawara offers a great opportunity to view some amazing plum blossoms for those who can't wait for cherry blossom season. Besides having hundreds of trees, the park offers a a few stand up shops and festival-style food. It's a great way to spend a clear day. Make sure to check out the plum candies and pickled goods! Parking can be a bit of a hassle, so getting there as early as possible is best. Also, anticipate some walking (it is essentially a big field), so make sure to wear some outdoorsy shoes.
