Some cities around the world are well-known for their coffee prowess, like Seattle in the United States, Vienna in Austria, and Melbourne in Australia. Yokosuka in Kanagawa is endeavoring to add their name to that list, and the Yokosuka Coffee Festival is an event designed to promote some of the great coffee roasters you can find in the local area.
Along with the numerous Yokosuka-based coffee shops selling their brews, there will be businesses selling eats that pair well with the drinks on offer. Admission to the event itself is free, but coffee tasting tickets are priced at 1600 JPY on the day – if you plan on attending please note that cash payments only are accepted. Happy caffeinating!
Getting there
The event takes place at Younger Than Yesterday (normally a live music venue), which can be accessed in approximately 5 minutes on foot from Yokosuka Chūō Station on the Keikyū Main Line.
