It’s important to have fun when traveling to new places. When I travel, I try to push myself to do as much as possible in one day. But in order to do so you need a comfortable place to rest and spend the night. Well if you plan on visiting Kumamoto, I have the perfect candidate. It is Super Hotel Lohas Kumamoto Hot Springs.
The hotel is located fifteen minutes away from Kumamoto Station on foot or three minutes by streetcar, getting off at Kawaramachi. You’ll be able to see a sign indicating the hotel from the stop.
Super Hotel Lohas Kumamoto Hot Springs combines budget rates packed with amenities. First, they provide free Internet in every room as well as four computers available for free use in the lobby. They also have a printer and a fax machine. This is really useful when you need to do some research for your next destination and want to print a map or when booking and printing your flight ticket.
Another service I really liked was the hot spring bath within the hotel. After a long day walking around Kumamoto, it’s important to remove your fatigue in order to prepare yourself for the next day. The hot spring is the perfect solution for stretching your legs and relaxing.
There is also a complimentary all-you-can-eat-breakfast. There are over fifteen nutritiously balanced dishes to choose from and at least half of the dishes change every day.
I also really liked the small amenities they offer. In the room there was a humidifier that really helps keeping the room and your skin moisturized. They also provided different choices of pillow. Each person has their own preferences for pillows and some people have difficulty sleeping when the firmness of the pillow isn’t right. So having the option to choose different pillow firmness was another small touch that made me feel that the hotel really cared about the satisfaction of the customers.
Room choices include single, economy twin, and family twin. Prices start from as low as 4,480 yen per room. And all plans come with the services and amenities I mentioned earlier. The hotel also offers discounted monthly rates, a women-only floor, and non-smoking rooms.
The location is very convenient for tourists and businesspeople since it’s right near central Kumamoto and you can take the streetcar and visit Kumamoto Castle (considered one of Japan’s top three), a traditional Japanese-style samurai house called the Hosokawa Gyoubutei Mansion, and the Kumamoto Shimotori and Kamitori shopping districts, all within 5 minutes.
