- Hirano Shrine -- Every year in early April, there is a sakura or cherry blossom festival here. It's located between Kinkakuji and Kitano Hakubaicho. Admission is free.
- Arashiyama -- Arashiyama is a tourist hub, so it gets crowded. But, you can't beat the view of the sakura trees along the river and the mountains.
