Kahoen is a mountainside garden in Kyoto known for its seasonal beauty, particularly the numerous sakura trees that bloom during spring. Some of the blossom types at the garden include shidarezakura, the weeping-style of cherry blossom, and omuro sakura, known for blooming later than other sakura types.

The garden will be celebrating the blooming season with a festival running for just over two weeks, and on two Saturdays during the event (Saturday, April 13th and Saturday, April 20th for 2024) the park will be illuminated after dark and open until 8.30 pm. On standard days during the event the opening hours are from 8 am until 5 pm.
