Toji Temple is one of Kyoto's numerous World Heritage sites. Its five story pagoda is the tallest wooden tower in Japan, and is an enduring symbol of Kyoto.

The garden is absolutely beautiful in spring, summer and fall, so don't hesitate to pay the entry fee, and stroll around the pond and pagoda. Keep your eyes open for the colorful koi in the pond, and enjoy the different views of the pagoda from various points around the garden.
