The NAKED art collective has been showcasing their projection mapping skills at numerous events across the country this year, and one is headed to Miyagi's Zuiganji Temple from late October until late November. The NAKED Night Walk concept was designed to bring life to tourist areas after dark, since in many areas stores tend to close early.
The fall months are the most popular time of year for visitors to Zuiganji, and the interactive art event was deliberately scheduled to coincide with this. Event attendees can take a stroll around the temple precincts while holding a NAKED Distance Lantern®, which emits a circle of light that promotes social distancing naturally. This event will include three types of Distance Lanterns® – two are designed like camellias and lotuses respectively (the flowers are associated with Zuiganji Temple), and the third showcases star designs inspired by the night sky.
Adult admission to the event is priced at ¥1300.
Getting there
Zuiganji Temple is located under 10 minutes on foot from Matsushimakaigan Station, which is served by the JR Senseki Line.
