The Tricolore Music Festival has been held since 2004 in the central urban area of Ishinomaki City, and it has become a summer tradition in this part of Japan. The "tri" part of the event name symbolizes three components: the sea, people, and music, which are celebrated at the event.
This year's festival is set to include an impressive 77 bands performing at seven different venues across the city, from JR Ishinomaki Station to the Nakase area where the popular Ishinomori Manga Museum is located.
For those who want to plan their visit ahead of time, a comprehensive list of event venues and performers (complete with timeframes) can be found on the official event website.
Getting there
The event takes place at seven different venues around the Ishinomaki area, including Nakase Park and Kawamachi Open Park.
