Mount Kiso-koma's Autumn Colors

The towering cliffs of Senjojiki are one of the first sights to greet you

Leave the worries of the world behind as you exit the cable car station

From the cable car station head north towards Kiso-koma-ga-take where you will see the first of two mountain huts

The mountain ranges open up when looking to your left

The vivid colors will greet you when passing by Naka-dake

A little further on towards Kiso-koma-ga-take the colors become even more vibrant

The impressive views continue on for several hours for anyone doing the 5 hour hike to Hinokio-dake where a campground awaits you

Representing the highest peak in the central alps, Mount Kiso-koma (Kiso-koma-ga-take) stands proudly at 2,956 meters tall and provides many colorful sights from mid to late October when traversing along its rugged ridge lines.

Thanks largely to its high altitude, this majestic peak offers a great sneak preview to Japan's vibrant autumn colors well before they reach most major towns and cities.

Situated within the Kiso District of Nagano Prefecture, this peak is easily accessible via cable car providing a convenient escape for anyone wanting to get up into the mountains.
