There's something special about events held under the stars. The vastness of the universe and the twinkling constellations provide a sense of wonder and tranquility, and a special event in Nagano held each summer since 1981 showcases a variety of films beneath the sparkling night sky.
The Starry Sky Film Festival has become one of the prefecture's most-loved summer traditions, and it's held in the beautiful surroundings of the Yatsugatake Nature and Culture Park. A screen measuring 11 meters wide and 5 meters high will be set up on the outdoor stage, and the venue is encircled by trees – on clear evenings whilst enjoying the lineup of films, attendees can also look up and appreciate the spectacular night view.
