Have you ever wanted to experience Japanese culture first hand? Now is your chance and it won't cost a thing!

Free Japanese cultural classes and experiences are now being offered to visitors to Nara by the NARA Visitor Center and Inn! Opened on July 23rd and located on the southeast corner of the Sarusawa Pond in Nara Park, the Visitor Center has a different activity everyday. Try your hand at kanji calligraphy, enjoy the beauty and grace of a tea ceremony (and the taste of the tea and sweets), or learn about the history of Nara and Japan while dressing in a Tempyo Gown. Deer gathering walking tours of Nara Park, Ikebana flower arranging classes, traditional summer festival games and koto concerts are also available. A free excursion bus can take up to 20 visitors to either the village of Asuka or the town of Yoshino on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays through October 31st of this year!

Nara is the birthplace of the Japan the world recognizes today. Where better to experience the culture and build an understanding of it than here?
