The Niigata Nabe and Sake Festival is an inaugural event which intends to celebrate the best of tasty, warming hot pot dishes and local sake - it's a perfect way to welcome the colder months in this part of the country! The three-day program will see 12 businesses serving nabe varieties filled with different broths and ingredients, along with sake, oolong tea, and beer.
This year's event will be limited to Niigata residents in an effort to mitigate novel coronavirus transmission, and resident status will be verified upon entrance. Additional measures will be taken to ensure the health and safety of those in attendance, including temperature checks and mandatory face mask wearing when food and drink isn't being consumed.
Please note that the first two days of the event will run from 11am until 7pm, but the final day sees this shortened to 11am until 5pm.
Getting there
The Niigata Nabe and Sake Festival is held on the 2nd floor of the Bandai City Bus Center. The venue is just under ten minutes on foot from Niigata Station, which is served by the Joetsu Shinkansen, the Echigo Line, the Shinetsu Main Line, and the Hakushin Line.
