Woodfire oven pizza on Niigata City's backstreets

Japan has loads of amazing food - sushi, ramen, tempura, okonomiyaki and more - but sometimes you're just craving a good old pizza when meal time rolls around. On the backstreets of Niigata City, I stumbled across Pizzeria Vento E Mare, and their pizza is so delicious that I returned the very next time I could!

Their lunch specials are a great deal, with sets featuring the pizza or pasta of the day, a salad, and drink on offer for around 1000 yen on average. Their pizza with homemade meatballs is out of this world good, with a perfect blend of flavors that will see you savoring every morsel. The set drinks are your standard offerings of tea, coffee, or various juices, but they do have a robust list of beers, wines, and spirits if you're in the mood for something stronger.

Getting there

Pizzeria Vento e Mare Niigata is located five minutes on foot from Niigata Station.
