Beppu, located in Oita Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu, is a city renowned for its hot springs – so much so that it's often referred to as the hot springs capital of Japan. The Beppu Onsen Shower Fes brings this aspect of the area's tourism to a large-scale event, where attendees can enjoy food, drink and music while bathing in hot spring water on a beautiful natural beach.
Early bird tickets can be purchased online at a discount until August 8th (7,980 yen), and after that general ticket sales open up until September 8th (9,900 yen). Buying tickets on the day will set you back 12,000 yen.
Please note that this is an adults only event – ticket sales are not available to those under 18 years of age.
Getting there
The festival takes place at Matogahama Park and Beppu Spa Beach. The venues can be accessed in around 10 minutes on foot from Beppu Station, which is served by the JR Nippō Main Line.
