A good day often starts with good coffee - and Good Day Coffee in the Okinawan town of Chatan allows you to start your morning off on the right foot nice and early. Opening from 6 am, the store is inspired by Australian cafe culture which you'll feel the minute you step inside.

The coffees here are made with beans from Marvell Street Coffee Roasters in Byron Bay, Australia, a coastal town and popular vacation destination. Much like Okinawa, Byron Bay draws in visitors because of its scenic beaches and opportunities for aquatic activities, so there are already some parallels there! The cafe's interior has plenty of nods to life by the water, with surfboards, colorful murals, and potted greenery used to decorate the premises with.

Along with the coffee, there are a range of different meal options on offer. The Good Day Breaky is just one of them, and it comes with thick-cut toast, avocado, bacon, a sunny side up egg, and potato salad. You'll also find the Aussie cafe favorite of avocado toast topped with feta cheese and nuts, a variety of toasted sandwiches, and the popular herb chicken plate. There are also a selection of baked goods to choose from, and they differ each day.

If you appreciate getting your caffeine fix in early, or you just enjoy cafes with relaxed vibes and ultra-friendly service, say G'day to Good Day Coffee - it's well worth the visit!

Do note that the cafe is closed every Monday if you're planning a special trip, and payment is by cash only - bring some yen with you!

Getting there

Good Day Coffee is located just under 15 minutes drive from the Okinawa Expressway's Kishaba Interchange. It's also a 5 minute drive from the popular American Village entertainment area. On-site parking is available.
