Katsuo-ji is a historic Buddhist temple located in the city of Mino, Osaka, and it's a popular spot for people praying for luck – historically, emperors and shoguns visited here to wish for success in their endeavors. The temple is also surrounded by natural beauty, and this is set to be celebrated with an upcoming illumination event.
The Katsuo-ji Fresh Green Night Illumination highlights the verdant springtime scenery on the temple grounds, and the grounds will be lit up from sunset to 8.30pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the event dates. Please note that last entry to the temple grounds is at 8pm if you plan to visit.
Getting there
Katsuo-ji can be accessed in 15 minutes by taxi from Mino Station, which is served by the Hankyu Mino Line.
For those who opt to drive, paid on-site parking is available. It's charged at a rate of ¥500 for up to one hour, and then ¥200 for every 30 minutes thereafter.
