Many foods have a special place in history, and evoke a certain sense of nostalgia for times gone by. An event taking place at the Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka throughout November will give guests a little foodie throwback to the Showa era – the Retro Sweets Afternoon Tea.
Priced at ¥ 2500 per head, the event includes a variety of eats that are seen as Showa era icons, including custard pudding, fruit roll cake, and apple galette. Guests will also be served a cream soda of their choice (either melon or blue Hawaii flavored) to round out the retro feel.

Getting there
The Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka is located a minute on foot from Ōsaka-Uehommachi Station, which is served by the Kintetsu Railway's Osaka, Nara, and Namba Lines.
For those who opt to drive, the hotel is around 5 minutes from the Hanshin Expressway's Dotonbori exit. On-site parking is available at a price of 700 yen per hour, up to a maximum of 1000 yen per day.
